Same Work. Different Frame.
HueCap originally focused on connecting companies with Black creative and technical talent for project-based work. In parallel, I consulted with companies on diversity integration, particularly across UX and customer journeys, helping teams think more intentionally about who they were building for and how those experiences were actually felt. Often this meant brand and marketing initiatives that needed to resonate with an African American audience, work that required both skill and cultural understanding. It also included finding top administrative talent within predominantly African American communities, professionals who are often overlooked but highly capable and deeply experienced.
At the same time, HueCap operated as a layer in between. A few of the professionals I worked with were independent contractors: experienced, in-demand, and often navigating complex client relationships on their own. I stepped in to manage contracts, ensure payments were honored, and create a bit more structure around engagements that can otherwise feel loose or inconsistent.
It worked well. For everyone involved. Then the environment shifted.
With new restrictions around DEI, companies became more cautious about how they engaged this type of work. Fortunately, I’m not new to pivoting, and HueCap never needed that language. My career has never followed a straight line—creative production, agency work, federal contracts. Each chapter has required me to adjust, translate, and rebuild without losing the core of what I do.
Today, the work is framed as workforce solutions and strategic advisory. Less labeled and more integrated. I advise on team structure, support hiring for specialized roles, and partner with leaders who need clarity in how their organizations are actually operating—not just how they’re designed on paper.
The throughline hasn’t changed. It’s still about creating vision and structure where there isn’t enough. And it’s still about bringing perspective that helps organizations move more intentionally.
And honestly, the work feels more expansive because of it.
